hi all,
for those not going to Buzzards Roost or Bernheim, lets head out to Germania Society on Kemper Rd this Saturday. Germania is holding their Herbstliche Kuerbis Lauf, or Fall Pumpkin Walk.
If one wants to get official Volksmarsch credit, one must pay a $3.00 fee. However, one can just walk the course for no cost. Volksmarsch is a walking society which originated in Germany, and which conducts walks all over the world.
One can start the walk anytime between 9 a.m. and 1230 p.m, but I propose meeting up- at the
Germania Klubhaus at 10 a.m., by the large flagpole in front of the building.
There will be a 5K [3.1 mile] course and a 10K [6.2 mile] course. Most of the course will be flat or rolling ground, with only a couple of hills. The course is a mixture of woodland trails and quiet roads.
Dogs OK on leash, but they are not alllowed inside the Klubhaus.
After the walk, Germania will have its fabled food for purchase, including several types of wurst, schnitzels, goulash, and great pastries. and of course outstanding German beer and wine.
if questions, contact the Germania coordinator, Patty Galvin at [masked] or John Cunningham at [masked], or email [masked]

Oh ya.........I was rushing back for the sauerkraut..........it was faster then OKI.............also wanted that creme puff!!
Oh, I guarantee it was not an O-K-I pace, even with walking on roads.
I am already committed to 8:45 a.m. with my "Speed Walking Group" from Mason, OH area. We plan to do the 10K and eating afterwords. I hope to see Tri State Hiking Group there, after our walk.
