Thought it would be fun for us to try the Shawnee Forest Day Hike Trail. It's 7.2 miles in length and will provide a moderate workout with several hills along the way, so be sure you bring lots of water on this one. Please dress accordingly for weather conditions that day. I would highly recommend boots there might be some slick spots. http://www.yaktrax.co...

Carpool Spot: Meijer in Eastgate at 8:45 am and leave promptly at 9:00am it's about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive but closer to 1.5. I live at the half way point in Sardinia so I wont be at the carpool spot. Directions take Ohio 32 east to Ohio 247 south to West Union. From West Union take Ohio 125 east to the site. http://www.mapquest.c...
We will park at the Turkey Creek Nature Center, which is across the road from the trailhead. There is plenty of parking there, and there are restroom facilities.

    Was anyone planning on carpooling? I don't know what the road conditions will be like so let me know if you think we need to change the departure time from Meijer a little earlier to give you more time to get to the trailhead by 11:00.

    We could also carpool from Sardinia if anyone is interested. I live just off Rt. 32. I will leave at 9 or 9:15 so I can get there ahead of the group.
