Caesar Creek is my local hangout.
What is your craziest hiking memory (or "have you ever been chased by a bear")
Oh so many come to mind, but one my favorites is nearly coming face to face with a bull moose on the AT in Maine.

"We hit a killer BBQ place on 52 in Portsmouth on the way out to hike this area, can't remember the name of it but it may be the same place you're talking about Amie. There's also a great burger joint just down the road from the trailhead."
